Glitter…On Your Wedding Cake?!

Edible glitter! If you’re having a Tiffany themed wedding this would go perfect or if you just want to add some extra pizazz to your guests’ dessert.  Many bakeries carry this sparkle addition to your cake but if they don’t you could personally pick some up at a cake supply store or browse online. You can then just request your baker to place the glitter on the cake where they feel it should go or if you want defined detail such as just on the tips of your flowers or around the borders you just have to clarify that. As you can see in these pictures edible glitter can really make a big difference in your wedding cake and here are a few really unique cakes that I’ve found with great use of edible glitter…

Now in this photo you can see just how much effect the edible glitter had with this cake. What could have been a very simple cake with ribbon is now a fun and flirty cake tower that guests won’t be able to take their eyes off of.

The glitter on this cake is most noticeable on the top where the light is hitting the snowflakes. However, as you can see for this winter wonderland theme the cake is very whimsical and with the addition of glitter to this cake it adds a lot more detail to the already unique style of the snowflakes.

This is a very thick coat of glitter to give a snow covered feel to the cake. Without the addition to glitter you must admit this would be quite a big plain pile of cake. The edible glitter adds a big effect and turned a plain white cake into something much more extravagant and beautiful.

Arriving in Style…Without a Limo

It has just about become tradition that the bride and husband-to-be should arrive to the church or ceremony location in two separate limos. But why not twist things up a bit and arrive in style with a variety of transportation ideas to get you to and from your ceremony and reception locations. This is your grand entrance and although limos are quite luxurious it is not mandatory to rent one on your wedding day. Here are a few great ideas for your grand get-away:

The Harley Davidson Couple: If you do not know what kind of company Harley Davidson is you can pretty much skip this little section. However, for all you cycle-lovers out there, this one’s for you! Whether cruising around on one of these bad boys is a shared passion or perhaps you even collect them together what better way to show off your love for motorcycles than riding away together on one of your own?! Besides, you won’t have to pay any type of fee per hour like renting a limo.

Cinderella and Prince Charming: If the two of you are more on the romantic side and plan on having that fairytale wedding you’ve been dreaming about, a horse-drawn carriage fits right in. This will complete all the magic that will be happening throughout the night and begin your journey for your very own happily-ever-after.

Need For Speed: If you and your partner are living life in the fast lane or just have an overall love for some really fast cars, rent one of those tricked-out rides for your wedding. What other time will you really be able to say you rode a couple hundred thousand priced car to your own special event?! Arrive in style and have fun doing it!

Trash The Dress? I Say Yes!

Many newly-wed couples are opting to go through some outrageous lengths to get some great shots of their love for one another. Rising up in popularity is the idea to ‘Trash the Dress’ after the wedding day is over. This term is meant literally and new brides are getting down and dirty in their wedding dresses. As outrageous as this may seem, these photos come out amazing and really let your personalities shine through. Here are some really great ideas for ‘trashing’ your dress because after all, when will you ever wear it again?

Splashes of Color! This tends to get a little messy but worry about the mess later, for now it’s all about being creative! It’s time to splash some paint around, use spray paint, whatever you need to do to get that fun and colorful shot.

Under The Sea! Beach photos are great but go a step further and add some underwater photos in there and you won’t be disappointed. These photos turn out so unique and will capture some really great memories the two of you will have with the start of your new journey together.

Down and Dirty! Let all your wildness come out and just have fun! I thought the idea of having a silly mud wrestling match in your dress or rolling around in the grass is such a fun way to get some great pictures. You will make quite a mess but all that happiness and silliness the two of you are sharing together will be captured forever. Do you really want to keep your dress in a box forever?

How Sweet It Is To Be Loved By You!

There are plenty of ways to get creative when it comes to desert and what better way to showcase your love for sweets than a candy buffet! It’s time to indulge on your inner sweet tooth and forget about all those months you were dieting to fit into your dress. After all, just about anything tastes good when it’s dipped in chocolate let alone a three-tiered chocolate fountain! Guests will admire (as well as enjoy) the variety of deserts rather than just serving the traditional one slice of cake.

The option for a candy buffet is actually relatively affordable and you can even coordinate your wedding color scheme into the pieces of candy you choose. M&M’s can be bought in a variety of colors as well as jelly beans and Skittles.

Fall wedding themes could incorporate the beloved candy apple and candy corn as well as other festive colored candies.

A few great tips for Spring and Summer wedding desserts is to add lots of colors and be creative with big lollipops or salt water taffies (anything to make the dessert table pop out) as well as other colorful candies that will go with your theme.

Candy canes and snowmen shaped marshmallows would go great for a Winter Wonderland theme and allow guests to indulge on their favorite holiday pastimes.

Adding a candy buffet to your wedding is a fun and unique way to add some color and extra sweets to the desert table. Chocolate fountains are also a great hit and guests will be talking about your dessert table for weeks if you decide to add one of these at your wedding. Another great reason for a candy buffet is that it can really serve two purposes, besides just great dessert you can place a take home bag on the table and your guests can bring home all the sweets they enjoyed at your wedding. Let your guests experience the sweetness of your love between one another with a very tasteful candy buffet!

Twist Things Up With A Cupcake Wedding Cake!

It’s tough to decide what flavor cake will suite all over your guests and if there will be enough to feed everyone. Cupcakes could easily be a different flavor and all you need to do is count the amount of cupcakes to decide if you have enough. Problem solved! Cupcake wedding cakes are taking over and allowing brides to satisfy everyone. There won’t have to be worries about last minute disasters of your perfectly decorated wedding cake falling to the ground right before the reception. If one cupcake falls it’s not going to ruin the whole design and it can be fixed within minutes.

There’s nothing ordinary about the love you feel with each other therefor your first desert as husband and wife should be more than just ordinary. Bring some of that fun love between the two of you into the unique design of your wedding cake. There’s no limit to how many different flavors and designs you can put on each cupcake! It’s like a miniature cake for each guest stacked tier by tier giving the illusion of one big cake.

Designs are becoming more and more elaborate as this trend continues to grow. Many cake designers are also adding a small cake at the top so couples can still take that first traditional cut as husband and wife together. Cupcake wedding cakes are a great alternative to make your special day more unique and personalized. If you’re not into the traditional setting or want a fun way to display the dessert table this is definitely the answer!
